What is a Circle Be Unbroken Weekend?

Next Saturday, June 28th at 3PM we will be debuting the 2-disc CD set from May’s recording Session. Extra copies will be available for purchase and we will also have video from the event playing.

CFBA will bring chicken wings and papergoods, so please bring a covered/side dish and your beverage of choice so we can make an evening of it. We also want to have a general meeting to discuss future events. So get your ideas together.

This event is at The Garden - 3708 East Sam Allen Road - Plant City

From I-4 take the Thonotosassa Road (Exit 19) and head north.

Please note that CFBA has cancelled the bluegrass school scheduled for June 21st. Instead, we will be holding a CD release party for the Circle Unbroken Weekend, and general meeting on Saturday, June 28th at the Garden (see my other blog entry for more details).

Hope to see you on the 28th.

Lucien

Hello Everyone,

Good News! Kelly has finished mixing and mastering the CDs – yes plural, as in 2 – from the Circle Unbroken weekend and we will be taking them in for duplication this week. So with that in mind, we have decided to hold a CD release party at the Garden (where we recorded) on Saturday June 28th. We expect to start mid afternoon (around 3 or so) but we are still working out the details. I will send out an update in the next couple of days. For those of you who are not familiar with the Garden, directions are as follows:

The Carter Brothers from Nashville TN will play the Bamboo Room Friday May 2nd at 10pm... The band spent several years on the road with Florida's own Vassar Clements.. they tour the USA and UK playing their own brand of southern appalachian blues rock bluegrass.... this is a very unique band you do not want to miss... chk out myspace.com/carterbrothers or carterbrothersband.com

"I dare ANYONE to watch Monroe Crossing and not get happy!" — D.A. Callaway, Silver Dollar City, Branson MO

From Minnesota, the Monroe Crossing Bluegrass Band tours in the SE US every year in Jan & Feb, and will do so again in 2009.

A simple question is: How can we make contact with the Central FL BG Assn to see about doing a concert while we're in the area next winter?
