CFBA - November Announcements
GOODBYE OCTOBER ===============================================================
October was a busy month for CFBA and local Bluegrass events. The Dover Rod Run at Dover Baptist Church was well attended and thanks to the many volunteer musicians in the local Bluegrass community (CFBA included) the music never stopped. If you have never been out for the Rod Run you really should come out to the next one. The folks at Dover Baptist Church always put on a great event and are very gracious hosts.
Also, big thanks to Too Much Fun for another fantastic Halloween Party. Josephine and the crew pulled it off again. There were lots of great costumes, food, friends & pickin’. If you missed it, come out next year and check out the photo album. If you took pictures, please put them on a disk and give them to Josephine (or bring them to a CFBA event and we’ll pass them along) for the album. Rumor has it there may be a change of venue next year, so pay attention.
HELLO NOVEMBER
===============================================================
Loosen up your belts because this month’s Bluegrass calendar is stuffed like a………… oh you know. Don’t miss:
CFBA - Jam Night at Coffee 101
Plant City, November 17th - 4 pm to 10 pm
Coffee 101 is located in downtown Plant City at 101 East J Arden Mays Blvd (next to McCall Park). CFBA bands will perform inside the coffee house. Call Ken if you want to be on stage (813.390.4796). We will also be jamming in the alley next to Coffee 101 during the car show.
Don’t forget about these other upcoming November events:
* RiverHawk Music Festival – NOV 8th through 11th at Sertoma Youth Ranch
* Thanksgiving Weekend at Sertoma – NOV 22nd through 25th
The Bluegrass Parlor Band will be playing on Friday and Bits of Grass will play Saturday and Sunday at the Thanksgiving festival. So get out there and support you local pickers.
ON THE HORIZON...
No CFBA events are scheduled for December. But we will be preparing for the January festival. This year we will be cooking hotdogs and hamburgers burgers for purchase during the Saturday show. We are also considering a raffle to support upcoming January festivals. So if you, or your company, have any items you could donate for a raffle, please let Ken know and we’ll see if we can get a raffle put together. We are really fortunate to have some great bands lined up and appreciate the support they have shown us. We hope to see all our members at this event and that you will each bring a friend. Tickets are only $5 for the day. That probably wouldn’t even buy you a half-caf-decaf-carmel-mocha-frappa-spresso-chino at some unnamed national coffee chain.
